The HARVEY TOOL 73125-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding machining environments. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers tight tolerances in small-feature work. The amorphous diamond coating provides enhanced surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life when cutting abrasive non-ferrous materials, composites, and graphite. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. With four flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this end mill is suited for finishing passes and fine detail work in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is used in precision CNC milling applications where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include machining of carbon fiber reinforced polymers, fiberglass, graphite electrodes, ceramics, and other abrasive non-metallic materials. The amorphous diamond coating makes it particularly effective in applications where uncoated or AlTiN-coated carbide would wear prematurely. It is used by machinist professionals and tool-and-die shops operating vertical or horizontal CNC machining centers requiring 1/8 inch shank tooling.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting 1/8 inch shank tooling with standard ER or precision collet systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Use a precision collet or toolholder rated for the 1/8 inch shank diameter to ensure minimal runout. Confirm correct tool reach and clearance before beginning a cut cycle. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use, as chipped or worn flutes on small-diameter carbide tooling can cause workpiece damage or tool breakage.
