The HARVEY TOOL 73080-C3 is a miniature solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in close-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.08 inch cutting diameter and a 0.24 inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where rigidity and edge integrity are critical. The 4-flute geometry and 30-degree right-hand helix promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive and high-heat cutting environments. This end mill is single-end configuration and is centercut-capable, supporting both plunge and peripheral milling operations.
This tool is suited for CNC machining centers and high-speed milling machines in job shops, aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments. The 0.125 inch shank diameter fits standard collet toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and CFRP composite materials. The stub-to-standard length range makes this tool well suited for tight-clearance cavities, fine detail features, and miniature component machining where tool deflection must be minimized.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch collet toolholding systems on CNC milling machines. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and CFRP materials per the manufacturer's listed primary workpiece material classifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility safety procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter carbide tooling. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for feeds, speeds, and tool change protocols.
