The HARVEY TOOL 72845-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in both roughing and finishing operations. The AlTiN PVD coating adds heat resistance and wear protection, making this tool well-suited for high-speed dry machining environments. With 4 helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes.
This end mill fits standard toolholders with a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank and has a 2.5 inch overall length. It is a single-end, centercutting tool from the Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Stub and Standard series, intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It handles both roughing and finishing passes across a wide range of workpiece materials, including composites and non-ISO materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working with close-tolerance features will find the controlled corner radius geometry useful for blending radii and pocketing operations.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials as indicated by primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and O.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces corner radius accuracy. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
