The HARVEY TOOL 72523-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering, deburring, and countersinking operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. This single-end tool features a 3/8 inch cutter head diameter and a 2-flute geometry that supports efficient chip evacuation while maintaining edge sharpness. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and a matching 3/8 inch shank diameter, the 72523-C3 fits standard collet toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This chamfer mill is suited for light to medium-duty chamfering on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites in both production and job-shop environments. The 45-degree included angle (135-degree included angle also noted) makes it appropriate for standard edge-prep work, spot-drilling, and countersinking on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional spindle rotation on standard machine tools. It is sold individually and is well-suited for shops requiring accurate, repeatable chamfer geometry without secondary deburring operations.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collet toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation of this chamfer mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the tool from the collet or toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank to maintain chamfer accuracy. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
