The HARVEY TOOL 72332-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed for operations that combine drilling and milling in a single tool. With a 1/2 inch diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 90-degree point angle, this drill mill handles center drilling, spot drilling, and peripheral milling without a tool change. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Machinists and CNC operators use it in production and job-shop environments where cycle time and tool changes matter.
This drill mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers and CNC mills where multi-function tooling is required. The 90-degree point angle makes it effective for chamfering, countersinking, and plunge-entry milling. The 2-flute geometry supports chip evacuation in both drilling and side-milling passes. Applications include aerospace, die-and-mold, and general precision machining where a single tool must perform multiple operations across ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temp alloys.
Designed as a direct-fit tool for standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills requiring combined drill and mill capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
