The HARVEY TOOL 71701-C3 is a solid carbide double angle milling cutter designed for precision groove milling, chamfering, and angular slot work on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Built with a 90-degree included angle and a 1/8-inch cut diameter, this cutter handles tight-tolerance angular features in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With four teeth and a 1/16-inch cutting width, it produces clean, accurate cuts in confined spaces. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators install this cutter in applications where angular accuracy and repeatability are critical.
This cutter is suited for small-scale precision work in mold making, die cutting, dovetail preparation, and angular groove machining. The 1/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet systems used on CNC mills and machining centers. The 5/8-inch neck length provides clearance for recessed features, and the 2-inch overall length fits within typical tool-length offsets for vertical machining setups. It is appropriate for both production and prototype environments where fine angular detail is required.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collet systems on CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines where double angle cutters are specified for angular groove or chamfer operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The cutter must be secured in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder with appropriate runout specifications to protect the cutting edges. Always power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing tooling. Consult the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards for correct tool protrusion and rpm settings based on material and cut depth.
