The HARVEY TOOL 68320-C3 is a Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for milling keyseat slots in shafts and workpieces where a precise, controlled cut width is required. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this cutter delivers hardness and heat resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.1875-inch cut diameter and 0.04-inch cut width produce a consistent slot geometry for standard Woodruff key fitment. With a 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length, it fits standard collet and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Six straight teeth provide clean, stable cutting action. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working in precision manufacturing and machine shop environments.
This cutter is suited for keyseat operations in production machining, toolroom work, and repair applications. The straight tooth configuration makes it appropriate for slotting cuts in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. Its solid carbide construction supports use at higher speeds compared to HSS alternatives, making it a practical choice for shops running CNC equipment or high-speed manual mills where tool life and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style keyseat cutter for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with milling operations and cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing or inspecting tooling. Secure the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
