The HARVEY TOOL 63710-C6 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-temperature alloy machining. It features a 0.1562-inch mill diameter, a 0.234-inch length of cut, and four flutes with a variable helix geometry at a nominal 34-degree angle. The AlTiN Nano PVD coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding cuts. With a 3-inch overall length and a long-reach, stub-flute configuration, this end mill suits deep-pocket and extended-reach applications where rigidity and chip control are both critical. It is installed and run by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is rated for primary use in superalloys and titanium, corresponding to ISO material group S. It also carries secondary ratings for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO groups P, M, K, and H). The stub-flute, long-reach geometry is well-suited to aerospace, medical, and energy-sector component work where tight tolerances and difficult materials are the norm. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER and shrink-fit collet toolholders. Cutting direction is right-hand with right-hand flute spiral.
Designed for use in CNC milling operations on superalloys and titanium as the primary workpiece material, with secondary compatibility for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1875 inches fits ER collets and shrink-fit holders sized for 3/16-inch shanks.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully and concentrically in the collet or holder, and verify runout before initiating a cut. Consult the tooling manufacturer feed and speed guidance for the specific workpiece material and machine type. Do not exceed the tool reach or depth-of-cut limits appropriate to this stub-flute geometry.
