The HARVEY TOOL 60420-C3 is a back corner rounding end mill designed for precise edge-breaking and corner profiling on the back side of a workpiece. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles high-temperature cutting in hardened steels, stainless, and other demanding materials. It features a 0.5mm radius (0.0200 inches), a 0.115 inch mill diameter, and three flutes for efficient chip evacuation. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC mill spindle rotation. Solid carbide construction delivers rigidity and wear resistance in tight-tolerance machining applications.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where back edge rounding or chamfering is required on part features that cannot be accessed from the front. Typical applications include deburring back edges, creating radii on undercuts, and finishing internal shoulders. The 1/8 inch shank diameter suits collet chucks and toolholders common in precision shop environments. Its compact overall length of 1-1/2 inches suits setups with limited Z-axis clearance. Machinists in aerospace, mold-making, medical device, and general precision machining will find this geometry useful for finishing operations.
Designed as an OEM-style specialty back corner rounding end mill compatible with standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and toolholding systems used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet before torquing the toolholder to the machine specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as solid carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine OEM feeds-and-speeds guidelines for the specific workpiece material and do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for this diameter.
