The HARVEY TOOL 58408 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and other hard materials. With a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) mill diameter and three flutes, this single-end tool delivers a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter. The extended reach configuration — with a 2.5 inch reach length — makes it suited for deep-pocket and slotting operations where standard-length tools cannot reach the workpiece. Machinists and CNC operators working in tight geometries or multi-axis setups will find this geometry particularly useful. The bright, uncoated finish makes it compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual milling machines requiring a small-diameter, extended-reach cutting tool. The 3/16 inch (0.1870 inch) length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it appropriate for fine-feature work in mold and die, aerospace component machining, and general precision part production. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill suitable for standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder, verified to the appropriate runout tolerance for the application. Confirm tool projection and reach clearance before beginning a cutting program to avoid tool deflection or workpiece collision.
