The HARVEY TOOL 55645 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precision chamfering and deburring operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 1/16 inch cutter head diameter and a 90-degree included angle, this single-end tool cuts a clean, consistent chamfer in a single pass. The bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where coating adhesion or thermal concerns are a factor. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank diameter and a 1/32 inch length of cut, the 55645 is intended for tight-tolerance work in machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This chamfer mill is used in production and job-shop environments where small-diameter chamfering is required on holes, edges, and slots. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers. Its compact geometry makes it appropriate for workpieces with limited clearance around the chamfer zone, including small bores and tightly spaced part features. Two flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and edge strength at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style chamfer mill for use in standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter through collet or end mill holder tooling.
Installation and operation of this tool should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the 1/8 inch shank firmly in a matched collet or end mill holder rated for the intended spindle speeds before starting the machine. Verify runout with an indicator before cutting, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to collet concentricity. Never exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material, and never use this tool for plunge cutting unless the specific application data supports it.
