The HARVEY TOOL 54662 is a single-end undercut end mill designed for undercutting, back-milling, and slot-milling operations that standard end mills cannot reach. The 270-degree wrap angle allows cutting on the underside of a workpiece in a single setup. At 0.0625 inches in diameter with a 0.053-inch length of cut and a 0.0312-inch corner radius, this tool is built for tight, intricate geometries in precision machining environments. Solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required for hard materials and close-tolerance work. The 0.0370-inch neck diameter creates the necessary relief for undercutting passes. This tool is used by machinists in CNC milling applications where clearance and precision are critical.
This end mill is suited for small-part machining, moldmaking, aerospace components, and medical device manufacturing where undercutting or back-wall relief is required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. With a 1-1/2-inch overall length and a 0.250-inch neck length, the tool reaches into recessed features without requiring a specialty holder setup.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production undercut end mill for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter via collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the 1/8-inch shank fully in the collet or holder to the manufacturer-specified gauge length before tightening. Inspect the neck and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide tools at this diameter are sensitive to handling damage. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes.
