The HARVEY TOOL 53093-C8 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum alloys, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and composite materials. The cutter measures 0.0930 inches in diameter with a 0.0050-inch corner radius and carries a TiB2 (titanium diboride) PVD coating that reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in non-ferrous applications. With a variable helix geometry and three flutes, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality across both roughing and finishing passes. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 0.5000-inch length of cut. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision machining environments.
This end mill is optimized for aluminum alloy milling but is rated across a broad material range including steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and non-ferrous metals (ISO N). The long-length configuration provides additional reach for deep-pocket and slotting operations. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry, and the right-hand spiral flute geometry suits standard right-hand spindle setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is suited to high-precision toolholders to maximize runout control at small diameters.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Rated for aluminum alloys, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, wood, and composite workpiece materials per the Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Corner Radius and Material Specific End Mills series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Seat the 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank fully in a high-precision toolholder to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to improper handling. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when transitioning between workpiece materials.
