The HARVEY TOOL 52316-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steels. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in abrasive applications. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this tool well-suited for dry or semi-dry machining environments where heat buildup is a concern. With 4 helical flutes and a variable helix geometry, it combines roughing and finishing capability in a single-end configuration. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production facilities will find it effective for profiling, slotting, and contouring in difficult-to-machine materials.
This end mill is designed for use in high-precision toolholders and targets applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys - material groups commonly designated P, M, K, and H in ISO classification. The short-length, straight-cylindrical shank provides rigidity in tight setups. Its variable helix design helps suppress chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it appropriate for finishing passes as well as medium-depth roughing in high-temp alloy components such as aerospace brackets, medical fixtures, and tooling blocks. It is a single-end tool intended for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
Designed for use in high-precision toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Compatible with CNC machining centers and mills configured for 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder is clean and the shank is seated to the correct gauge length before tightening. High-precision toolholders such as shrink-fit or hydraulic chucks are recommended per the manufacturer specification for this series. Verify spindle direction and programmed feed and speed parameters match the tool geometry before initiating a cut.
