The HARVEY TOOL 50116-C8 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. Built with a 0.01-inch corner radius and a variable helix geometry, this tool reduces chatter and improves surface finish across a range of workpiece materials. At 1/4 inch in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard precision toolholders. The TiB2 PVD coating provides hardness and thermal resistance suited to aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals. Three flutes and right-hand cutting and flute direction complete the performance profile.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling operations where precise corner geometry and consistent tool life matter. Its variable helix design targets aluminum alloys specifically but is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, composites, and wood. The corner radius tolerance of plus 0.001 to minus 0.001 inch and mill diameter tolerance of 0.000 to minus 0.002 inch make it suitable for tight-tolerance work. It is a single-end, non-chipbreaker, non-extended-reach design with a straight cylindrical shank. High-precision toolholders are recommended for optimal runout control.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Rated for aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood, and composite workpiece materials. Material application codes P, M, K, N, and O per ISO classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended gauge line before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout at the tip before cutting, as the tight diameter tolerance makes spindle and toolholder condition critical. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds when transitioning between material types.
