The HARVEY TOOL 47810-C3 is a miniature solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision machining in tight geometries. With a 0.01-inch cutting diameter and a 1/64-inch (0.015 inch) length of cut, this tool is built for micro-milling applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation and surface finish in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds hardness and thermal resistance at the cutting edge, extending tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists use this end mill in production and prototype environments demanding sub-0.1-inch depth-of-cut capability.
This end mill is suited for fine-detail work in mold-making, medical device manufacturing, electronics, and aerospace component machining where feature sizes are extremely small. The 1/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length allow it to run in standard collet chucks and ER toolholders on VMCs and CNC mills. The extended reach configuration, with a 0.03-inch reach length, provides clearance for slot and pocket work in recessed areas. The centercutting design supports both peripheral and plunge operations where required.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and ER toolholding systems on CNC vertical machining centers and precision milling machines accepting 1/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Verify collet bore and runout before seating the shank to minimize deflection at this diameter. Due to the extremely small cutting diameter, use the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for AlTiN-coated carbide micro tools to avoid breakage. Qualified CNC machinists or tooling specialists should handle setup and first-article verification.
