The HARVEY TOOL 46420 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precise milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) mill diameter, a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius, and a 2-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The single-end, center-cutting design handles both roughing and finishing operations. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch length of cut, this miniature end mill fits compact toolholders used in precision machining, mold work, and close-tolerance detail cutting. It ships bright and uncoated, making it suitable for applications where coating compatibility or re-grinding is a concern.
This end mill belongs to the Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Stub and Standard series, targeting machinists working in tight-clearance areas on small features. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, wood, and composite materials. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. The coarse pitch and 2-flute count support efficient chip evacuation in both finishing and light roughing passes on miniature workpiece features.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, wood, and composite.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using standard end mill toolholders or collet chucks rated for 1/8 inch shanks. Verify spindle runout and toolholder concentricity before seating the shank to protect the tight mill diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to -0.0020 inch. Power down and lock out the machine spindle completely before changing or measuring the tool. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended feeds and speeds for the target workpiece material.
