The HARVEY TOOL 45693-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The tool measures 0.093 inches in diameter with a 0.01-inch corner radius and a 0.279-inch length of cut, ground to a tight tolerance of plus or minus 0.001 inches on the radius. The variable helix geometry reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it suited for both roughing and finishing operations. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life in hard ferrous materials. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 37-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling medium alloy steels, stainless steel grades, and cast iron workpieces. The 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank seats in standard collet-style toolholders. The single-end, center-cutting design allows for plunge entry and slotting as well as peripheral profiling. It is well suited to die and mold work, precision component finishing, and contoured-profile milling where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations at part features.
Designed for use with standard collet-style and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per the manufacturer material codes P, M, and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully to the recommended gauge depth in the toolholder and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-specified length of cut of 0.279 inches to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
