The HARVEY TOOL 45550 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.05 inch cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a 2-flute helical geometry, this tool balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The uncoated solid carbide construction handles a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It is centercutting and suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers. The 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet toolholders used in vertical mills and machining centers.
This end mill is built for miniature and small-feature work where cutter diameter and corner radius tolerances are critical. The 0.05 inch diameter and 0.15 inch length of cut make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring in die and mold work, medical component machining, and precision aerospace part production. The coarse pitch, right-hand helical flute geometry promotes efficient chip clearing in both ferrous and non-ferrous stock. It is a single-end tool from the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Stub and Standard series.
Designed for use with standard collet toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, wood, and composites per manufacturer material application data.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. At 0.05 inch diameter, the tool is highly susceptible to breakage from side load, excessive feed rate, or improper toolholder fit. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for RPM and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material and cutter diameter.
