The HARVEY TOOL 42393 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill built for tight-tolerance work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.093-inch cutting diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius and runs three right-hand helical flutes at a 30-degree helix angle. The extended-reach design places the cutting zone at the end of a long, slim neck, enabling access to deep pockets and slots that standard-length tools cannot reach. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.125-inch straight shank, this single-end mill is center-cutting and suited for both roughing and finishing passes in one tool. It ships uncoated and is part of Harvey Tool's Miniature End Mills Long Reach Stub Flute series.
This end mill is engineered for precision machining operations where a small-diameter, long-reach tool is required. Typical applications include deep pocket milling, profile work, and corner radius generation on dies, molds, and tight-geometry workpiece features. The stub flute length of 0.139 inches limits deflection at the cutting edge while the 0.75-inch reach length provides clearance from the shank. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a compatible toolholder. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, composites, and wood.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and precision mills running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, composite, and wood workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 0.125-inch shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to improper handling.
