The HARVEY TOOL 36240-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. It carries a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.04 inch corner radius, and four helical flutes ground to a 30-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating adds thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a stub-to-standard length tool suited for applications where rigidity and minimal deflection matter. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators install this type of end mill in toolholders for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is built for use in machining centers and CNC milling setups where controlled corner geometry is required to blend radii into part features cleanly. It is center-cutting and right-hand flute direction, right-hand cutting, making it compatible with standard spindle rotation. The 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits common collet and end mill holders in that bore size. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in steel and stainless steel workpieces, as well as finishing passes in cast iron and non-ferrous materials. Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder collet and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification before use. Verify spindle direction is right-hand before engaging the cut. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each setup, particularly after any interrupted cut or unexpected tool contact.
