The HARVEY TOOL 34805-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/16-inch diameter with a 0.005-inch corner radius, 4 helical flutes, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 5/8-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, this is a stub-standard miniature end mill suited for tight-clearance and small-feature work. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with a straight cylindrical shank. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC programmers working in production shops or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is built for roughing and finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. Its miniature form factor makes it well-suited for mold and die work, medical component machining, and small-part aerospace applications where corner radius blending and tight tolerances are required. The AlTiN coating performs well in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions common in steel and stainless steel applications. The 3/16-inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, allowing direct chucking in standard collet toolholders.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore collet toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills with appropriate collet systems.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Ensure the collet bore and shank are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before seating the tool. Secure the collet to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the toolholder type in use. Avoid side-loading the tool during setup, as miniature carbide end mills are brittle and susceptible to chipping from lateral shock.
