The HARVEY TOOL 34708 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and hard plastics. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 3/16 inch length of cut (0.187 inches), this single-end tool delivers tight tolerances in confined pockets and slots. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality, making it well suited for finishing passes and light roughing at high spindle speeds. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces axial cutting forces. At 2.5 inches overall length and 0.03 pounds, it is compact and rigid for small-feature work performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle applications where small-diameter tooling is required. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and precision toolholders common in production and job-shop environments. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and brass, as well as plastics and composites where coated tools may be unnecessary. An extended reach configuration with a 1 inch reach length allows access to features that standard stub-length tools cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter via ER collet or precision toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with proper toolholder torque procedures and runout inspection. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended collet depth to minimize runout and prevent tool pullout under load. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
