The HARVEY TOOL 34708-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, a 3/16-inch (0.187-inch) length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length, this tool is built for tight-tolerance slot milling, profiling, and finishing operations. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous alloys and hardened steels. Three flutes with a 30-degree helix angle deliver efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. This end mill is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing settings.
The 34708-C3 is suited for high-speed machining of ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium, and other hard-to-machine alloys where heat buildup and tool wear are primary concerns. The AlTiN finish performs best in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions. With a 1/8-inch shank diameter and 1-inch reach length, this end mill fits standard ER and shrink-fit collet systems commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. It is a centercutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill compatible with 1/8-inch collet or collet chuck systems on vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and manual mills equipped to accept 1/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the collet nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter carbide end mills and compromise cut quality.
