The HARVEY TOOL 33678 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built as a single-end tool with a 5/64-inch (0.0780-inch) cutting diameter and a 5/8-inch length of cut, it delivers extended reach in a miniature form factor. The 1/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it well-suited for tight-clearance work. Three flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in milling centers and machining cells for fine-detail work.
This end mill is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and CFRP composite materials. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The miniature diameter makes it a go-to choice for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations in mold work, die making, aerospace components, and precision part manufacturing where larger tools cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC mill setups.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collets or equivalent toolholding systems accepting a 0.1250-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, as excessive runout at small diameters accelerates tool wear and can cause breakage. Follow the tool manufacturer and material guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut when programming or setting up the operation.
