The HARVEY TOOL 33431-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 1/32 inch (0.0310 inch) mill diameter and a stub flute configuration, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in hard materials where tool rigidity and cutting accuracy are critical. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank, it is suited for CNC machining centers and precision manual mills. Installed by machinists and tooling professionals, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill is intended for miniature milling applications where small feature geometry demands a stub flute, long-reach configuration. The 0.1560 inch reach length and 0.1100 inch neck length allow the tool to access restricted pockets and contoured surfaces without sacrificing concentricity. It is well suited for mold and die work, medical component machining, and precision aerospace part production where small-diameter features in hard alloys are common. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed for use with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 1/8 inch collet or toolholder. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per material codes P, M, and K. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Long Reach, Stub Flute series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or shrink-fit holder to minimize runout, which is especially critical at this diameter. Inspect the tool edge under magnification before and after use to detect chipping. Never exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material, as miniature carbide end mills are brittle and will fracture under excessive lateral load.
