The HARVEY TOOL 31878-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding applications. With a 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch) cutting diameter and 3 flutes, this end mill delivers clean, accurate cuts in tight geometries. The amorphous diamond finish reduces friction and extends tool life across a wide range of materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 13/32 inch length of cut, it is well suited for small-feature machining where dimensional accuracy is critical. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for small-diameter work in mold making, die work, aerospace components, and precision parts manufacturing. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and tool holders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, adding flexibility to slotting, pocketing, and profiling operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. The length of cut range of 0.300 to 0.500 inches supports shallow to moderate-depth passes in this size class.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines; suitable for small-diameter square end milling operations across a range of machinable materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly into the collet to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout on small-diameter carbide end mills significantly increases breakage risk.
