The HARVEY TOOL 31850-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.05-inch (3/64-inch) cutting diameter and a 0.25-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature milling. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments, including hardened steels and heat-resistant alloys. Three flutes and a 30-degree helix angle balance chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The 0.125-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet setups on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. It is a centercutting tool capable of plunge entry. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This end mill is suited for small-feature profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where tight tolerances are required. The compact 0.05-inch diameter targets micro-milling applications in mold and die work, medical component machining, and precision part production. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard spindle configurations on the majority of CNC machining centers in production and job shop environments. The fixed helix angle of 30 degrees is optimized for consistent chip flow in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collet or collet chuck setups on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. No specific model compatibility data was provided by the manufacturer for this SKU.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the 0.125-inch shank fully in the collet and torque the collet nut to the collet manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as runout is especially critical at small diameters where it can accelerate tool wear or cause breakage.
