The HARVEY TOOL 30010-C4 is a solid carbide engraving cutter with a 60-degree included angle and a pointed tip geometry, designed for precise engraving and marking operations on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 1/8-inch cutter diameter pairs with a 1/8-inch shank for straightforward toolholder compatibility. An amorphous diamond coating improves surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in abrasive or harder ferrous materials. This single-flute design is suited for machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators who need clean, repeatable engraved lines, part markings, or decorative detail work on metal components.
This cutter is intended for CNC machining centers and manual engraving setups where fine-detail work on metal surfaces is required. The right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation. With a 0.108-inch length of cut and a 1.5-inch overall length, it fits a range of shallow engraving and V-groove applications on ferrous metals such as steel and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper. It is a single-piece solid carbide tool with no brazed joint, providing rigidity at the small diameters common in engraving work.
Designed for use on ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals as stated by the manufacturer. Compatible with CNC machining centers and engraving setups using standard 1/8-inch collet or toolholder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a properly sized collet or toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing or inspecting tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut for small-diameter carbide engraving tools, as excessive depth of cut or side load can fracture solid carbide at this diameter.
