The HARVEY TOOL 28162-C4 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precise milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and composites. It carries a 0.062 inch mill diameter with a 1/64 inch (0.015 inch) corner radius and four right-hand spiral flutes, delivering both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The amorphous diamond (PVD) coating extends tool life and reduces friction on abrasive workpiece materials. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 0.186 inch length of cut, this stub-length geometry provides rigidity in tight setups. It is intended for use with standard straight-shank toolholders.
This end mill fits applications where small-diameter, close-tolerance corner radii are required in machined components. It is well suited for die and mold work, precision aerospace parts, medical components, and other applications involving hard or abrasive materials at miniature scales. The stub and standard series geometry makes it a practical choice for setups where tool overhang must be minimized to control deflection and maintain dimensional accuracy. Compatible with conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with appropriate toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, wood, and composite materials as indicated by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing the tool. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder to prevent runout. At miniature diameters, even slight collet contamination or improper seating can cause premature tool breakage; inspect the holder bore before each use.
