The HARVEY TOOL 25524-C3 is a solid carbide counterbore designed for precision hole finishing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures and reduces friction during operation. With a 0.375-inch cut diameter, a 1-inch flute length, and four flutes, this counterbore delivers clean, accurate seating surfaces for fastener heads. Its solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance well beyond that of high-speed steel alternatives. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC or manual machines will find this tool suited to demanding production environments.
This counterbore is appropriate for use in machine shops, toolrooms, and production facilities where consistent counterbore depth and surface finish are required. It is commonly used when installing socket-head cap screws, shoulder bolts, or similar fasteners that require a flat-bottomed recessed seat. The 0.375-inch shank diameter allows direct mounting in standard collet chucks, end-mill holders, or drill chucks without an adapter. It is suitable for residential-grade toolroom fixtures and commercial production machine setups alike.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide counterbore for standard 3/8-inch counterbore applications in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotary cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
