The HARVEY TOOL 24020-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding ferrous applications. With a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter and a 0.0150 inch corner radius, this tool reduces stress concentrations at part corners while maintaining sharp edge geometry. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. At 6 inches overall length with a 4.3430 inch reach, this extra-long-length end mill is suited to deep-cavity and hard-to-reach features that standard-length tools cannot access.
This end mill is built for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in production and job-shop environments. The extended reach of 4-11/32 inches makes it a fit for deep-pocket work, tall-wall contours, and core and cavity mold work where reach is a constraint. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collet chucks and shrink-fit toolholders. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers specify this series when a short end mill cannot clear the surrounding fixture or workpiece walls.
Compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills capable of accommodating the 6 inch overall length.
A licensed or trained machinist should set tool offsets and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle and confirm zero RPM before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth to minimize deflection at extended reach. Confirm that the toolholder and spindle taper are clean and free of chips before clamping.
