The HARVEY TOOL 21187-C3 is a double-end corner rounding end mill designed for producing consistent, precise edge radii on machined workpieces. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles demanding materials and elevated cutting temperatures common in production and prototype machining environments. It carries a 3/16 inch radius, a 5/8 inch mill diameter, and a matching 5/8 inch shank diameter, with a tip diameter of 0.248 inches. The four-flute geometry improves chip evacuation and surface finish. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and manufacturing settings.
The 21187-C3 fits applications where a controlled corner radius is required on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and hardened materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions, making it appropriate for production runs on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, reducing per-edge tooling cost in high-volume operations. It is part of the Harvey Tool Corner Rounding End Mills flared series designed for 2 and 4 flute configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use corner rounding end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank toolholder or collet.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or changing the tool. Seat the 5/8 inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
