The HARVEY TOOL 20340-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. It is sized to wire gauge No. 55, equivalent to 0.0520 inches in diameter, and features a 130-degree split-style point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard or smooth surfaces. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive materials. With a spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut, this bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision bench-top setups where small-diameter holes are required in metal, composites, or hard plastics.
This micro drill bit fits into the HARVEY TOOL Miniature Drills series and is intended for machinists, toolroom operators, and precision fabricators working on small-scale components. Typical applications include PCB drilling, instrument manufacturing, mold work, and aerospace or medical part production where controlled chip evacuation and dimensional accuracy are critical. The 1/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collets and chucks found in most benchtop and production CNC machines.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, micro-drilling stations, and precision drill presses. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature Drills series.
This bit should be installed by a machinist or toolroom professional familiar with micro-drill handling and runout requirements. Ensure the spindle and collet are clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to lateral load and vibration. Use recommended feeds and speeds for solid carbide micro drills in the workpiece material; avoid hand-feeding or excessive plunge rates that can snap the bit. Carbide is brittle — do not use this tool in a hand-held drill.
