The HARVEY TOOL 20310-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Sized to wire gauge No. 57, it produces a 0.0430-inch diameter hole with a 130-degree split-point geometry that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard materials. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when drilling abrasive or hardened workpiece materials. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank, this bit fits standard collet-style chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held spindles. It is intended for machinists, toolmakers, and precision fabricators working in metals, composites, and similar materials.
This micro drill bit is suited for small-hole drilling operations in production and prototype environments where hole diameter consistency and surface finish are critical. Typical applications include circuit board pilot holes, small-diameter through-holes in metal components, and fine detail work in mold and die applications. The right-hand spiral flute configuration clears chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling at standard CNC feed and speed parameters for carbide tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature drill bit compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision spindles accepting a 1/8-inch round shank in a collet or drill chuck.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Carbide micro drills are brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed reduction, or over-tightening the collet, all of which can cause tool fracture. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feeds, speeds, and coolant application.
