The HARVEY TOOL 20245-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in demanding materials. It carries a No. 68 wire gauge designation, equivalent to 0.0310 inches (1/32 inch) in diameter, and features a 130-degree point angle optimized for accurate entry and reduced walking on hard substrates. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in shallow and deep holes alike. An AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating adds heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life when cutting ferrous metals, stainless steel, hardened alloys, and similar materials. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators.
The 20245-C3 is suited for miniature drilling operations in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines where tight tolerances and small hole diameters are required. Typical applications include circuit board fixturing, instrument components, medical device parts, aerospace hardware, and any workpiece requiring sub-1/8-inch hole diameters with clean, accurate entry. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collets and drill chucks found on most benchtop and production-floor machines. Right-hand cut geometry is consistent with conventional spindle rotation setups.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature drill bit for use in any machine tool accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter, including CNC machining centers, manual mills, and precision drill presses using standard collet or chuck toolholding systems.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the bit from the collet or chuck. Micro drill bits are susceptible to breakage under side-loading or excessive feed pressure — follow manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the workpiece material. Secure workpieces firmly to prevent movement during drilling, and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant as dictated by the material being machined.
