The HARVEY TOOL 18720 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for deburring, chamfering, and edge-breaking operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 1/8 inch cutter head diameter, 2 flutes, and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end tool delivers clean, controlled chamfer geometry in tight spaces and on small-diameter features. The bright/uncoated finish keeps the cutting edge at full hardness, making it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. Machinists and tooling technicians install this mill in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups where precise chamfer angles and compact tooling dimensions are required.
The 18720 is used in precision machining environments where consistent edge prep is critical to part quality. Its 40/140 degree included angle geometry handles standard chamfer profiles on holes, edges, and slots. The 1/8 inch shank diameter and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it a practical choice for small-part work, mold and die applications, and detailed finishing passes where clearance is limited and tool runout must be minimized.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the shank fully in a matched 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle completely before tool changes. Avoid side-loading beyond the tool geometry rating, as small-diameter carbide mills are brittle and susceptible to breakage under excessive lateral force.
