The HARVEY TOOL 18470-C3 is a 3-flute solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With a 3/8-inch cutter head diameter and a matching 3/8-inch shank, this tool runs in a right-hand cutting direction and accepts standard collet or end mill holders found in most CNC and manual milling setups. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Overall length is 2.5 inches, making it compact and rigid for controlled chamfer work in tight setups.
This chamfer mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where consistent chamfer geometry is required on steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials. It is typically used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for edge preparation, countersinking, and chamfer profiling. The 3-flute geometry improves chip evacuation compared to 2-flute designs while maintaining smooth surface finish on the chamfered edge.
Designed as a direct-fit chamfer mill for use in standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling adapters on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This tool is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the holder specification. Verify runout with an indicator before production cutting to ensure chamfer quality and tool longevity.
