The HARVEY TOOL 18355 is a 4-flute solid carbide chamfer mill designed for producing chamfers, bevels, and deburring operations on machined workpieces. With a 1/2-inch shank diameter and a 3-inch overall length, this tool mounts directly in standard end mill holders or collet chucks found on most vertical and horizontal machining centers. The bright uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous materials, plastics, and general-purpose applications where a coating would add unnecessary cost. A right-hand cutting direction and 0.149-inch length of cut provide controlled material removal in finishing and light chamfering passes.
This chamfer mill is used in production and job-shop environments for edge preparation on milled, drilled, and bored features. It is appropriate for creating consistent chamfers on hole entries and part edges in both prototype and production runs. The 1/2-inch cutter head diameter and standard shank size make it a straightforward drop-in for shops running general machining work in aluminum, brass, copper, and soft steels. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers on standard 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
Designed as an OEM-style chamfer mill for use in standard 1/2-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cutting operation.
