The HARVEY TOOL 17950-C3 is a combined drill and countersink designed for simultaneous center drilling and countersinking in a single operation. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a Trade Size 3 designation with a 1/4 inch body diameter, a 7/64 inch drill point diameter, and a 118-degree drill point angle. The 90-degree included angle is standard for countersinking fastener seats. Overall length is 2 inches. Right-hand cut. Typically installed in CNC machining centers, manual mills, or drill presses by machinists and tooling technicians working to precise center-drill and countersink tolerances in a production or job-shop environment.
This combined drill and countersink is suited for metalworking applications requiring accurate center locations prior to turning or drilling, as well as chamfering and countersinking for flat-head fastener seating. The double-end configuration and plain cutting edge style make it appropriate for general-purpose shop use across light to medium stock materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in higher-speed dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. It is a direct fit for applications calling for a Series Combined Drill and Countersink, Trade Size 3, with a 1/4 inch body diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for Trade Size 3 combined drill and countersink tooling with a 1/4 inch body diameter and 90-degree included angle, compatible with standard tool holders accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using a standard drill chuck or collet holder sized for a 1/4 inch body diameter. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are secured before engaging the cutter. Verify correct RPM and feed rate for the workpiece material prior to operation. Do not exceed the tool's rated parameters for depth of cut or applied lateral force, as solid carbide tools are brittle under side-loading conditions.
