The HARVEY TOOL 16907-C3 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting M4x0.7 threads in both internal and external applications. With a 0.1150-inch cutting diameter, a 0.2760-inch length of cut, and a 1/8-inch (0.1250-inch) shank diameter, this tool is built for precision thread milling on CNC machining centers. The three-flute helical geometry promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during threading operations. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when working in ferrous and high-temp alloy materials. Machinists and toolroom operators running tight-tolerance M4 thread profiles rely on this geometry for consistent, burr-free results.
This thread mill is suited for job shops, production machining environments, and toolrooms requiring a single tool capable of handling both internal and external M4x0.7 thread forms. The helical flute design makes it particularly effective in applications where conventional taps are prone to breakage due to interrupted cuts, blind holes, or difficult-to-machine materials. The 2.000-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workpiece setups without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter range.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard collet or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter. Suitable for M4x0.7 thread milling in ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys where the AlTiN coating provides optimal performance.
Install in a precision collet or shrink-fit holder rated for the 1/8-inch shank diameter and confirm runout before cutting. Program tool path using helical interpolation with the correct M4x0.7 pitch offset for the CNC control in use. Verify workpiece is securely fixtured and spindle speed and feed rates are set per the tool manufacturer recommendations for the workpiece material. Do not use in hand-held or non-CNC applications.
