The HARVEY TOOL 15332-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed for combined drilling and milling operations in a single tool. It features a 90-degree point angle, four flutes, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and high-hardness workpiece materials. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter and 1-inch length of cut, this tool is suited for machinists and toolroom operators running CNC machining centers or manual mills where tool consolidation reduces cycle time and setup changes. The micrograin carbide substrate provides added toughness and edge retention across a range of cutting conditions.
This drill mill is used in precision machining applications including spotting, drilling, chamfering, and peripheral milling in a single operation. It is appropriate for production and job-shop environments working with steel, stainless, cast iron, and other materials where an AlTiN-coated carbide tool is the standard choice. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with standard CNC spindle rotation and conventional toolholding systems. A 0.5-inch shank diameter fits directly into common ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit drill mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm holder runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
