The HARVEY TOOL 15316-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed for machinists and CNC operators who need a single tool capable of drilling, chamfering, and end milling in one setup. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN coating, this tool handles hard and abrasive materials with reduced heat buildup. The 90-degree point angle makes it suitable for spotting, countersinking, and through-hole work. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting and flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation and stable side milling at the 1/4-inch cutting diameter.
This drill mill fits production and job-shop environments running CNC machining centers or manual mills where tooling consolidation saves cycle time. It is well suited for ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and stainless applications where AlTiN's thermal resistance provides extended tool life. The 3/4-inch length of cut allows moderate-depth profiling and drilling operations, while the 2-1/2-inch overall length and 1/4-inch shank diameter are compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders common in vertical machining centers.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 1/4-inch shank tooling via ER collet chucks or end mill holders. Best suited for ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other materials compatible with AlTiN-coated carbide cutting tools.
A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should set tool length offsets and runout prior to production cutting. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening to prevent pullout. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, especially after interrupted cuts or hard material applications. Follow your machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
