The HARVEY TOOL 12759 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 1.5 mm (0.0590 inch) cutting diameter and a 12 mm (0.472 inch) length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in tight-tolerance work. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with rigidity at small diameters. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians in job shops, production facilities, and precision manufacturing environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where small-diameter, high-precision work is required. The 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty and mid-range machining setups. The 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most shallow-pocket and surface milling applications without sacrificing rigidity. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle rotation. This tool is single-end and non-centercutting, meaning it is not suited for direct plunge entry into solid material.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for small-diameter solid carbide square end mills requiring a 0.125 inch shank, 1.5 mm cutting diameter, 3-flute geometry, and 12 mm length of cut in standard ER or end mill toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Because this is a non-centercutting tool, program ramping or helical interpolation for pocket entries rather than direct plunge moves.
