The HARVEY TOOL 12116 is a brazed solid carbide square end mill tipped with a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting face. It carries a 0.25 inch cutter diameter, a 0.25 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 0-degree helix geometry and centercutting design make it well suited for finishing non-ferrous materials, composites, graphite, and other abrasive workpiece materials where conventional carbide tooling wears prematurely. With a bright, uncoated PCD tip and right-hand cut with right-hand flute configuration, it delivers a clean, consistent edge condition across high-volume runs. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production environments specify this tool where tool life and surface finish are critical priorities.
This end mill is intended for CNC milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, fiber-reinforced plastics, carbon fiber, ceramics, and graphite. The PCD tip provides exceptional wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide in abrasive applications. The 0.25 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet systems and shrink-fit holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and high-speed spindles. It is a single-end tool sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for CNC milling applications requiring a 0.25 inch shank, single-end square profile end mill with PCD tip geometry.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. PCD-tipped tools are brittle and should not be used on ferrous materials, as the carbon in PCD reacts with iron at elevated cutting temperatures and will degrade the cutting edge rapidly.
