The HARTMANN CONTROLS p620 is a mullion-mount combination proximity and keypad reader designed for access control applications. It reads standard Wiegand-format credentials and accepts PIN entry through an integrated keypad, giving installers a dual-verification option in a compact form factor. The unit supports a read range of up to 6 inches, making it suitable for door-frame and narrow-stile installations. Licensed electricians and low-voltage access control technicians are the primary installers. The p620 is rated for both indoor and outdoor environments, allowing deployment across a wide range of entry points without requiring a separate weatherproof enclosure.
The p620 fits residential, commercial, and light industrial access control systems where Wiegand-output readers are required. Its mullion form factor is well suited to narrow door frames, turnstile posts, and similar tight mounting surfaces. Because it accepts HID, AWID, and HARTMANN Wiegand card formats, it integrates with many existing access control panels without reprogramming the panel's input format. It is commonly installed at exterior entry doors, server room entrances, and controlled interior passages where two-factor credential verification is required.
Compatible with HID, AWID, and HARTMANN Wiegand-format access control systems. Designed as a Wiegand-output mullion reader for use with access control panels that accept standard 26-bit or compatible Wiegand data formats.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or access control technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage wiring. Disable power to the access control panel before connecting or disconnecting reader wiring. Mount the unit to a mullion or door frame using the provided or appropriate hardware, ensuring the reader face is unobstructed within the expected card presentation zone. Do not expose internal wiring terminals to moisture during or after installation.
