The HARCO 69-3115ED is a socket fusion reducing coupling designed for HDPE water service piping systems. It connects a 1.5-inch pipe to a 1.25-inch pipe using the socket fusion joining method, which creates a permanent, leak-resistant bond through controlled heat and pressure. The fitting is manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), making it resistant to corrosion, scaling, and chemical exposure common in water distribution applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on water service lines typically install this fitting.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial water service installations where a pipe size reduction is required inline. The socket fusion design is standard for HDPE water distribution systems and is compatible with pipe and fittings joined using a socket fusion tool set. Its black color is typical of HDPE fittings used in buried or above-ground water service applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for socket fusion HDPE water service piping systems accepting 1.5-inch by 1.25-inch reducing couplings.
Installation requires a calibrated socket fusion tool with the appropriate face sizes for both pipe diameters. Power down or isolate the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. Follow the pipe manufacturer heating time and cooling time guidelines for the specific pipe diameter and ambient temperature conditions. Local plumbing codes including the IPC should be consulted for approved joining methods and pressure ratings in water service applications.
