The HANKISON HF5-16-4-DPL is a coalescing oil-water separator designed for compressed air systems that demand high-efficiency liquid removal. Rated at 35 CFM and a maximum working pressure of 250 psi, this unit filters down to 0.01 micron, capturing oil aerosols and water vapor before they reach downstream equipment. The automatic drain eliminates manual intervention during normal operation. At 11.05 inches tall and 4.13 inches wide, the unit is compact enough for typical compressor room installations. HVAC and industrial service technicians install this type of separator as part of a coalescing filtration stage to protect pneumatic tools, control instruments, and air-driven actuators from contamination.
This separator is intended for use in the coalescer position within a compressed air treatment train. It suits applications in light commercial and industrial facilities where oil-injected rotary screw or reciprocating compressors are in service. The 1/2-inch NPT end connections make it straightforward to fit into standard compressed air distribution headers. Auto drain operation is especially useful in high-cycle environments where manual drain maintenance would be impractical or easily overlooked during routine service intervals.
Designed as an OEM-style coalescing filter-separator for use in compressed air treatment systems requiring high-efficiency liquid removal at the coalescer stage with 1/2-inch NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with compressed air system design and local safety codes. Depressurize and isolate the compressed air line completely before removing any existing separator or making new connections. Ensure the unit is mounted in the correct orientation as specified by the manufacturer to allow proper drainage through the auto drain port. Follow applicable OSHA and facility compressed air safety guidelines when returning the system to pressure after installation.
