The HAM-LET 3500116 is a compression tube back ferrule designed to form a leak-tight seal in two-ferrule compression fittings. It seats against the front ferrule and tube wall during assembly, creating the rear seal that holds tube position and resists pull-out. Machined from 316 stainless steel to material grade specifications, this back ferrule is rated for tube outside diameters of 1/4 inch. It meets multiple ASTM and DIN standards, making it appropriate for instrumentation, process, and fluid-handling applications where corrosion resistance and dimensional consistency are critical. Plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians working with compression-style tube fittings install this component.
This back ferrule is suited for use in instrumentation tubing systems, process lines, and hydraulic or pneumatic control circuits where 1/4 inch OD tubing is used. It performs in environments where the temperature range spans from -20 degrees F to 37 degrees F. Applications typically include chemical processing, oil and gas instrumentation, laboratory gas lines, and industrial fluid systems requiring reliable compression connections in stainless steel.
Designed as an OEM-style back ferrule for two-ferrule compression tube fittings using 1/4 inch OD tubing. Cross-references to Swagelok part number SS-404-1 per supplier data.
Installation is performed by qualified instrumentation technicians, pipefitters, or plumbers working with compression tube fitting systems. Depressurize and isolate the tubing system completely before disassembling any fittings. Back ferrules must be installed in the correct orientation behind the front ferrule - reversing the two ferrules will result in an improper seal. Follow the fitting manufacturer's assembly instructions for make-up turns, as over-tightening can deform the ferrule and compromise the connection.
