The HAM-LET 3102178 is a brass compression tube connector designed to join 1/2-inch outside diameter tubing to a male NPT threaded port. Built to ASTM B68 and ASTM B75 standards, this fitting delivers a rated working pressure of 3600 psi, making it suitable for demanding fluid and gas handling applications. The overall installed length of 1.99 inches keeps the assembly compact. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting where a leak-tight, vibration-resistant compression connection to a threaded component is required. No soldering or welding is needed to make up the joint.
This connector is appropriate for residential and commercial installations involving tubing runs that terminate at valved manifolds, instrumentation ports, or threaded equipment connections. It is commonly found in refrigeration lines, compressed gas systems, hydraulic test circuits, and process piping where quick, reliable compression fittings are preferred over brazed or soldered alternatives. The brass construction resists corrosion in a wide range of fluid media. Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to 37 degrees C (-4 degrees F to 98.6 degrees F).
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for Swagelok B-810-1-12. Suitable for 1/2-inch OD tubing systems using male NPT threaded ports operating within the rated pressure and temperature limits of this fitting.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician. Shut off system pressure and bleed residual fluid or gas before disassembling or installing compression fittings. Use an appropriately sized open-end or tube wrench on the compression nut and body hex to avoid distorting the fitting. Follow all applicable code requirements, including IPC and IFGC provisions for the media being conveyed, and verify that the fitting material is compatible with the system fluid before making up the connection.
